Testosterone Optimization Therapy in Redmond: A Coach’s Guide to TRT and Training

If you’re tired most days, losing strength you used to take for granted, and not recovering the way you did in your 30s, you’ve probably wondered whether your hormones are part of the story. For some men they are. For others the fix is sleep, food, and a real training plan. The only way to know is to test.

Here’s how we think about testosterone optimization at Sasquatch Strength & Nutrition, and how it fits with the work you do in the gym.

What testosterone optimization therapy actually is

Testosterone optimization therapy, often called TRT, is a medical treatment that brings low testosterone back into a healthy range. It’s prescribed and monitored by a licensed provider, based on bloodwork and symptoms, not on how you feel on a Tuesday.

It is not a shortcut, and it is not for everyone. Plenty of men come in convinced their testosterone is the problem, run labs, and find out their numbers are fine. That’s a good outcome. It means we point the energy somewhere more useful, like recovery and nutrition.

The signs people usually notice first

Low testosterone tends to show up quietly. Low energy that coffee doesn’t fix. Workouts that feel harder for the same weight. Slower recovery, more soreness, less motivation. Some men notice changes in mood, sleep, or libido. None of these prove anything on their own, which is exactly why we don’t guess.

If a few of these sound familiar, it’s worth a conversation and a lab panel before you assume the worst or write it off.

How we handle it at Sasquatch

We’re a strength and nutrition gym first. We’re not the prescriber. For medical optimization we partner with KIS Rx, who handle the clinical side: labs, provider review, and any prescription that follows. If your labs indicate a need and your provider approves, they manage the treatment and the ongoing monitoring. You can see the medical side through the SasRx Portal.

Our job is the training and the food. We make sure that if you do optimize your hormones, you’re actually using that recovered energy to build something. Hormones set the table. Lifting and eating well are still the meal.

Why training still matters more than the needle

Optimized testosterone with no training plan is a waste of a good lab result. The men who get real results pair medical oversight with consistent strength work. That’s where our strength training approach comes in.

You don’t need to live in the gym either. Three sessions a week is enough to see real change when the program is built right and you show up. Our coaches handle the programming, correct your form, and push you. You track your numbers, follow the plan, and don’t have to overthink it.

We also include unlimited InBody scans with membership, so you can watch muscle and fat move in the right direction instead of guessing from the bathroom scale.

Frequently asked questions

Is TRT safe?
When it’s medically appropriate and monitored by a provider, testosterone therapy is a well-established treatment. Safety depends on proper labs, dosing, and follow-up, which is why we defer entirely to KIS Rx providers for the medical side.

How do I know if I actually need it?
You don’t until you test. A provider reviews your bloodwork and symptoms together. If your labs indicate low testosterone and the provider approves, treatment is an option. If not, we focus on training, sleep, and nutrition instead.

Will TRT build muscle for me on its own?
No. It can support recovery and training capacity, but muscle still comes from lifting and eating enough protein. Treatment without a program won’t get you far.

Do I have to be a Sasquatch member to explore this?
The medical evaluation runs through KIS Rx providers. Membership gets you the coaching, nutrition, and unlimited InBody scans that make any optimization actually pay off.

Where are you located?
We have gyms in Redmond and Sammamish, and we coach members remotely across the US.
