Go Into the Holidays With Energy to Spare

Group of women training together in a strength class

The holidays are a wonderful, exhausting stretch. Travel, hosting, late nights, back-to-back events, and a to-do list that never ends. Most people limp into January worn out and a little softer than they started. It does not have to go that way. Start strength training now and you walk into the whole season with energy to spare.

Why the holidays drain you

It is not just the schedule. Energy comes from how strong and conditioned you are, how well you sleep, and how you eat, and the holidays tend to knock all three sideways at once. If you go in already under-trained and running on empty, the season flattens you. If you go in strong and conditioned, you have a reserve to draw on.

Training now is how you build that reserve before you need it.

Strength is energy you can bank

Getting stronger and better conditioned makes everyday life feel easier, which is exactly what you want when everyday life gets hectic. Carrying luggage, standing around a kitchen for hours, keeping up with family, staying up later than usual, all of it takes less out of you when your body is trained for it.

You do not need hours in the gym to get there. Three focused sessions a week is enough, which we covered in is three days a week really enough. The point is to build a base now so the season does not empty your tank.

Protect your sleep and your food

The other two energy levers matter even more this time of year. Sleep gets short during the holidays, and poor sleep wrecks both energy and recovery, which is why we wrote why sleep is the missing piece. And holiday eating does not have to derail you if you keep a few basics in place, especially enough protein, which we broke down in how much protein you actually need. You can enjoy the season and still hold your ground.

A coach keeps you consistent when life is loud

The holidays are exactly when routines fall apart. That is where having a coach and a simple plan pays off. Your coach builds the training, keeps it realistic around travel and events, and holds you accountable so you do not disappear for six weeks and start over in January. You show up, follow the plan, and keep your momentum through the busiest stretch of the year. We coach in Redmond and Sammamish and remotely anywhere in the US.

Frequently asked questions

I am slammed through the holidays. How does this fit?
Three sessions a week, built around your actual schedule, and coaching that adjusts when travel or events get in the way. It is designed to survive a busy season, not add stress to it.

Will I just undo everything with holiday eating?
No. You can enjoy the food and still hold your results by keeping a few basics steady, especially protein and consistent training. Your coach keeps it simple.

Is it worth starting now instead of waiting for January?
Yes. Starting now means you spend the holidays with energy to spare and enter January ahead, instead of worn out and starting from zero.

What if I travel a lot in December?
The program adjusts. Remote coaching travels with you, so your plan works at home, at a relative’s house, or in a hotel gym.
